As I wandered through the botanical garden in Singapore there were a variety of exotic orchids. “Singapore Sweetheart” was a large cattleya orchid that commanded your attention as you walked by. I succumbed to her beauty immediately. The combination of the luscious red, the shadows playing on the yellow petals, and the rich green in the background were so dramatic that I knew I had to paint her. |
