It was one of those times when everything was just right – a spectacular cattleya orchid in full bloom, perfect overhead lighting, and the idea for a painting. Everything stopped, including my breathing, until I’d retrieved my camera and captured the moment. I call her “Victorian Vixen” because her ruffled petals remind me of Victorian lace and she’s clearly a vixen – quite tantalizing! Since she’s such a memorable cattleya, “Victorian Vixen” makes a perfect companion for “Singapore Sweetheart”. |
