“Sunshine”, a Peace Rose, was inspired from a photo I took of a flower arrangement for my Mom and Dad’s 70th birthday party. The combination of the yellow, red and strong shadows immediately captivated me. I tried to show the translucence of the petals by hinting at the petal beneath in the lower portion of the painting. I subdued the background revealing only a few details of the leaves to let the rose dominate the painting. |
